SUN VALLEY, ID. The new White Clouds Golf Course will open Monday, August 11, Sun Valley Resort has announced.

Designed by long-time Robert Trent Jones, Jr. Chief Architect Donald Knott, the White Clouds nine-hole course is an “alpine links” course which rises up 300 feet from Sun Valley’s base elevation. The course will be 3,600 yards from the back tees with two par threes, two par fives and five par fours. Tee times are now being taken – 208-622-2251

Additionally, Sun Valley Resort will open The Clubhouse Wednesday, August 20. This elaborate 58,000-square-foot stone and wood structure will serve as both the pro shop in summer and the Nordic Center in winter.

The Clubhouse will contain a bar and grill, a restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating, retail shop, locker rooms, lounges, indoor driving range, and virtual golf, an indoor putting green and club storage. A three-sided deck will provide views of the surrounding mountains, the new 25-acre Practice Facility and the new 18-hole Sawtooths Putting Course (due to open soon).

The first two chairlifts in the world were built in Sun Valley on Dollar and Proctor Mountains in 1936.
