Sun Valley, ID, June 30, 2011: Sun Valley Company announced today it has entered into an agreement with CG-Elkhorn Golf, LLC to purchase the Elkhorn Golf Club in Sun Valley, Idaho.
"We believe Sun Valley Company's acquisition of the Elkhorn Golf Club will be beneficial for both the members and for the reputation of Sun Valley as a golf destination," Tim Silva, General Manager of Sun Valley Company, said.
"While this gives our guests an opportunity to play a number of great courses, the Trail Creek Course, The White Clouds and the Elkhorn Golf Course, our intention is to accommodate the member-based structure and eventual public play on the course without impact to the membership," he added.
The model will continue as it is structured today – as a semi-private club. There will be no further membership sales.
Additionally, Sun Valley Company is proud to announce Rick Hickman as manager of all golf operations. Mr. Hickman has a long history in the golf business, including past PGA professional at the Sun Valley Golf Course.
The Elkhorn Golf Course is conveniently located next to the Sun Valley Resort and is a 7,214-yard championship layout. Elkhorn's design is a mix of valley holes and those which traverse foothills – a bit of both found at Trail Creek (valley floor, tree-lined) and White Clouds (Alpine-style, and dramatic elevation changes).
Both course layouts boast luxurious clubhouse amenities with Sun Valley's courses complemented by a 58,756 square-ft. clubhouse, 25-acre practice facility and 18-hole putting course. The 16,000-square ft. Elkhorn Golf Clubhouse includes a dining room, teaching center, locker rooms and two practice facilities.
The transaction is expected to be finalized by July 1, 2011.
