Nestled in the middle of the spectacular Sawtooth Mountain Range is picturesque Sun Valley. There is no better place to train than the Sun Valley Skating Center which features:
All USFSA figure, freestyle, dance and pairs tests will be offered on July 25 & August 21, 2010.
July 21 - 25, 2010. This is a non-qualifying USFSA competition offering events in free skating, dance, pairs and showcase.
Practice ice can be scheduled through the skating center on any of the sessions listed on the summer skating school application schedule. Craig has been known for his unique spinning ability for many years. He has received perfect 10?s for his spins in the last five pro competitions he has skated. This class will focus on Craig?s techniques to improve overall speed, length of spins and positions. With the newjudging systeminplace, this is theperfect time to give extra attention to all of your spins. Outdoor Rink.
This class will focus on jump technique, exercises to improve jumping ability, solid landing positions and overall consistency. Craigwill guide you in the right direction to be the best jumper that you can be. Give your day a "JUMP" start with Craig's "Jump to Win." Outdoor Rink.
This class will offer the skater a warm-up routine and work on basic and complex movement, using exercises with edges and turns. Helpful in strengthening overall skating skills and creative ability for step sequences and connecting steps. Done in the style of a ballet class, skaters will learn to skate in partnerships and formations. Ability to do 3-turns, brackets, counters & rockers helpful. Juvenile level and above. Indoor Rink.
Learn how to perform like a pro. Each week a new dance combination is taught to music and developed to performance quality by Friday. Focus is on learning new step combinations, counting music, learning to perform and developingdifferent styles. This class is fast, energetic, and fun. Great for all levels of skating - even the pros! Outdoor Rink.
Please join us on the beautiful outdoor rink for a morning of learning & fun. Class is for adults only, taught by a rotating staff of professionals focusing on a different aspect of the sport each day. Skills include edges, moves, dance, choreography, style, musical interpretation, show skating moves, precision, figures, freestyle, stretching techniques and more. Coffee included in the session price.
Each day will focus on different strength and conditioning exercises, including stretching, off-ice jumps, Bosu Ball, dance, etc. to help build core strength and flexibility. Ballet Studio
Come join this fun class with Gia Guddat, choreographer and Ice ShowStar around theworld, including the SunValley Ice Showfor 15 years. Skaters will explore a wide range of musical styles and ideas,with an emphasis on the dramatic and showbusiness side of skating. Individual and group exercises are used to enhance creativity and performance quality. Focus is on musical interpretation, character development, use of space, relating to an audience,working with props and show skating moves.This is a fun class and all levels of skaters are welcome. Make your spirals sparkle andshine.Classwill focus onbasic spirals to advanced spirals, variations and extensions. Emphasiswill be on technique, turn out, extension and flexibility, while working on sustaining positions and being creative. Join Darlin for this fun and exciting class. Indoor Rink.
Craig is a professional champion and has been touring the world, performing in ice shows for over 15 years. In this class Craig will focus on all thedifferent traditional "showtricks" such as butterflys, illusions, hydroblading, stars, spread eagles, hitch kicks, etc. Make yourself stand out from the crown and be a winner with Craig's "Sk8 Tricks" class. Off-ice classes will focus on alignment, placement and movement understanding. Improve upper body carriage and strength, arm placement and flexibility for the ice. Pilates is a full-body conditioning for core-strength and elongation of muscles for greater flexibility. Ballet Studio. Ballroom is held on the Terrace by the Duchin Lounge. Learn the formal dances of waltz, foxtrot, fun of swing and sizzling latin dances. Both Hilarie and Lori have been working with skaters on and off the ice for over 20 years.
Mazimize your overall power on the ice through your edges, your knees and your feet. Judy Blumberg has worked with skaters throughout North America to increase their power, flow and technique. Exercise drills will be adapted to all levels of skating.

1. When selecting ice time please begin by selecting the weeks you wish to attend on the Skating School Application form.
2. Next select your sessions by placing a check-mark next to your desired session on the Summer Skating Schedule form.
3. For indoor ice during the Sun Valley Competition, please fill out the Competition Ice Schedule.
