Goals

February Workshop
  • • Ski with our guest coach Carol Levine, past National Alpine Team member for the Professional Ski Instructors of America, PSIA examiner and trainer. Carol was the original organizer of the National PSIA Women’s Seminars. Years ago she developed Sun Valley Ski School’s first women’s program and followed with a period of time in the Vail/Beaver Creek Snowsports School creating their women’s program, also becoming its School Training Manager and developing Focused Learning, an innovative ski immersion program. Now enjoying a little masters racing on the side, Carol works for the Snowsports School at Squaw Valley. Don’t miss out on your opportunity to meet and ski with Carol!.

  • Day 2/Focus–Terrain day. Let's Challenge ourselves! Steeps, bumps, off piste, gates.
  • 8:00-8:30 optional inside coaching with Carol discussing equipment.
  • 8:30-9:00 breakfast, group up, daily announcements, answer questions.
  • 9am–12pm ski with coaches changing up the comfortable.
  • 12-1pm Lunch
  • 1–3:30pm ski with coaches
  • 3:30–4pm regroup, share challenges endured, any announcements
  • Day 3/Focus–Mileage, muscle memory and fine tuning. Video day.
  • 8–8:30am inside coaching with Carol. Muscle memory, anatomy issues.
  • 8:30–9am breakfast, daily announcements, explain video protocol.
  • 9am–12pm ski, ski, ski, with coaches and video.
  • 12–1pm Lunch
  • 1–3pm ski ski ski with coaches and video
  • 3pm Après cheese and chocolate party. Awards, video before and after, share accomplishments.

Mountain Masters

This program focuses on all-mountain skiing for the intermediate to advanced skier. Our top level instructors provide you with the tools to master all that Baldy has to offer. The Mountain Masters' program is designed to improve skiing skills in all terrain and conditions in a fun and sociable atmosphere. Clinics meet at Lookout Restaurant Monday - Friday, 9:30am – 12:30pm. Whenever possible, group size will be limited to nine skiers. Advance registration is required. Join us for the day or the season!

Masters' Race Clinics

Available by the day, week or season, Master Race is designed to improve current racers skills and introduce intermediate to advanced skiers to the excitement of racing.  Whether you are training to compete or want to improve your skiing in a fun, challenging way, this program is for you.  Coached by former US Ski Team members and international competitors, this program attracts some of the best skiers in the area.

Free Ride Team

Offered for kids 6 though high school, the FreeRide Team provides non-competitive training for skiers and snowboarders. The high quality, high-energy ski and snowboard team focuses on skills development for the fun of the sport. The all-mountain, all-conditions concept includes Saturdays on Baldy and Sunday in the terrain park and half pipe along with non-competitive race gates. Open to skiers and riders intermediate and above. Offered Saturday & Sunday mornings December – March.

Local's Adult Clinics

Ski & Snowboard Lessons for Adults

The Adult Local's Clinic offers an opportunity to ski with other adults and make new friends all while improving your skiing or riding. Clinics are taught on both Bald and Dollar Mountain.

Clinic Sessions are held on 3 consecutive Saturday's from 1–4pm.

Intermediate–Expert skiers and boarders meet at River Run Lodge on Baldy.

Spud Sessions

The Sun Valley SnowSports School offers 3 sessions of Spuds SnowSports Camp. Now open to children in kindergarten through sixth grade all across Idaho! (Grade exceptions will not be allowed.)

Each 3-week session will have morning and afternoon options available. Ski instruction is limited to the first 150 skiers per morning and afternoon sessions. Snowboard instruction is limited to the first 100 snowboarders per session. Snowboard instruction is available for children 6 years and older only.

All instruction is provided by Sun Valley SnowSports School instructors.

Note: The first day of each session all registered children, regardless of ability, meet at Dollar Lodge at 8:30 a.m. for the morning session (classes are from 9–11:30am) and at 12:00pm for the afternoon session (classes are from 12:30– 3pm).  Advanced skiers and boarders will move to Baldy on Sunday.  Please be on time.

Parents: Please be prompt in picking up your children. No supervision for children is available after class.

Little Spud Sessions

Little Spud sessions are designed to introduce children 3 – 5 years old to skiing.  Snowboarding will not be offered. Any child living in Idaho is eligible to enroll. 

The total cost per session is $190.00, which includes both lesson and lift tickets.  All instruction is provided by Sun Valley SnowSports School instructors.

The only requirements for children are that they must be potty trained and want to learn.
