Making Turns & Making Friends

Long ago Sun Valley positioned itself as the place to learn to ski. With the invention of the world's first chairlift, skiers of all levels flooded to Sun Valley to learn to ski and perfect their technique.  Today the tradition continues with a high percentage of expert skiers/snowboarders enrolling in the Sun Valley Ski and Snowboard School, one of the most highly acclaimed schools in the country.

We have two separate mountains, Dollar Mountain and Bald Mountain, allowing students to learn, improve, and enjoy lessons on a mountain with skiers and snowboarders of similar abilities. Skiers and snowboarders of beginning to low intermediate levels will improve their skills on the gentle, treeless terrain of Dollar Mountain providing them with the perfect environment to learn. Skiers and snowboarders of intermediate and expert levels will take lessons on Bald Mountain and find themselves matched with instructors who offer challenge in a relaxed and supportive learning atmosphere.

Children's Camp Group Lessons

Sun Valley's SnowSports School offers children's group lessons for skiers' ages 4-12 and for snowboarders ages 6-12. We provide a fun, safe, and supportive environment where students can reach their full potential. Our team of Children's Program Supervisors hand pick instructors who focus on developing skills and fundamentals while building confidence in each student.

Lessons are offered in a camp setting daily beginning at 10:00am and ending at 3:00pm. The day includes four hours of on-snow instruction along with supervised breaks and lunch. We conduct camps on both Dollar Mountain and at Bald Mountain depending on the child's age and ability.

Not Sure Which Camp Is Right For your Child?

We want your child to have the best experience possible. If you're unsure if your child is an intermediate, please start your child at Dollar for a more enjoyable first lesson back on the snow. Your child can advance to Bald Mountain when ready. In your child's best interest, we will move your child to the program and location best suited to your child's needs. Please note that the minimum age requirements are strictly observed for safety reasons and your child may be riding the chairlift alone.
