The Sun Valley area offers more than 30 miles of paved bike paths with no cars as well as hundreds of miles of single track mountain bike trails.
And, no visit to Sun Valley is complete without a trip to Bald Mountain. The world famous mountain is now open to sightseers and adventurers all summer long. Whether you are looking for a relaxing day in the wildflowers, or a challenging journey through the rugged beauty of Idahos wilderness, a day on Baldy promises an unforgettable experience.

Bike Rental: We have over 350 bikes on our rental fleet including:
- Cervelo Demo Road Bikes & Turner Demo Mountain Bikes
- Full Suspension and Front Suspension Mountain bikes including 29ers
- Comfort 24 speed bikes for our 30 miles of paved bike paths
- 3 speed Cruisers and 1 Speed Beach Cruisers
- Every kind of kids bike imaginable including trailers and run bikes
You can rent for 4 hours or multiple days and our bike savvy staff will gladly provide you with a helmet, lock, maps of local trails, and suggested rides.
Didnt bring the right gear? Dont worry - Pete Lanes Mountain Sports has all the biking and hiking accessories youll need for a leisurely stroll, bike ride or an all day adventure.

Wheels & Wine Guided Bike Tour: Enjoy a leisurely tour on two wheels through Sun Valley with a perfect ending a taste of wine. This fun, relaxed guided tour gives you the lay of the land as well as insight into the rich history of the area. Cost is $29 person and an additional $10 for a bike. The tour leaves at 4:00 pm on Thursdays.
Free guided hikes on the White Cloud Trails: Join one of our local Pete Lanes staff members for an hour long beautiful hike on the adjacent White Cloud Trails which gives you stunning views of the Sun Valley area.
Lift Accessed Downhill Mountain Biking: Our sister shop at the base of Bald Mountain rents bikes specifically designed for going downhill. Included in the $99 price is a 3000 foot uphill ride to the top of Bald Mountain (along with your bike) and then miles of advanced mountain biking trails that bring you back to the base area. An adventurous half day activity not for the faint-hearted!

Cold Springs Trail
This two-way trail stretches across 2,500 vertical feet on the mountain's south face. The trail works its way through the wildflowers to Clear Creek Lookout. Here you can catch your breath while enjoying a stunning view of the Pioneer Mountains. The lower portions of the trail meanders through the lush woods that Sun Valley's smaller natives, like chipmunks and squirrels, call home.
