LIFT OPERATORS:
Lift operators are in charge of chair lifts and guest services. Applicants need to be willing and able to work in all weather conditions. Conversational English is necessary to interact with guests. Lift operators will be responsible for the smooth operations of the chair lifts.

SKI INSTRUCTORS:
Our ski instructors provide the guests with instruction in a manner that results in a fun, enjoyable learning experience, teach according to the system/method developed and endorsed by the Sun Valley Company. An instructor will assist in the delivery of clinics and training sessions and participate in the Sun Valley Snow Sport School Race Awards ceremony and other promotional activities. Instructors will be required to attend weekly instructor meetings and all assigned training clinics.
Dates: Dec-April
Skills: New hires are required to go through a new hire clinic at the beginning of December.
Pay and Hours: $10/HR (this is considered a tipping position); Hours will vary
MOUNTAIN GUEST SERVICES:
Guest Services on the Mountain will help to maintain our guest’s comfort level by providing information and direction; encouraging a safe mountain environment, organizing ski lift lines and checking tickets. Mountain Guest Services employees can be asked to maintain vehicle/pedestrian access and safe outdoor operation and may also work as parking lot attendants or shuttle drivers.

Pay and Hours: $7.25/HR; 9a.m-4p.m (40-56 hour weeks)
SNOW MAKING:
Responsible for ensuring the timely opening of the mountain, and maintaining synthetic production of snow. Applicant must be willing and able to work outdoors in many extreme weather conditions. Some computer handling will be involved. The physical demand of the job is high. Conversational English required.

Pay and Hours: Pay is $10.25/HR, $10.50/HR for graveyard shift; 56 hour work weeks. 3 Different possible shifts a day.
FRONT DESK:
In charge of guest relations, reception, check in/check out of either the Sun Valley Inn or Lodge. English fluency, customer service, and a positive attitude is a must in this position. Computer and phone reception is a plus but not required.

Winter hires: Dec.-Middle of April (applicants with end of March end date will be considered)

HOUSEKEEPING:
Responsibilities include: cleaning the hotel rooms, restocking the amenities and mini bar, tidying, turn down services, ect. Conversational English is preferred but not required.

TICKET CHECKER:
Responsible for scanning guests ski passes before they are allowed to ride up the chair lift. Ticket checkers should have a desire to work outdoors. Conversational English is required, and a friendly attitude is essential.

RECREATION DEPARTMENT:
Ice Rink Cashier:
Responsible for renting the skates at the ice rink and getting them checked back in. Cleaning, light office work and answering phones are all part of this job.

Skills Required: Must be able to understand and speak English. Will train rental procedures and computers.

Recreation Front Desk:
Duties of the Recreation office include selling the Sun Valley amenities and packages offered through the company. Previous experience with computers, answering phones, and office work is preferred. The right individual should have a very professional attitude, and great customer service.

Pools Attendant
Pool attendants are responsible for checking guests and employees into the pools, and handing them out towels. During the shift pool attendants are responsible for maintaining the appropriate heat and cleanliness of the pools.

Pay and Hours: $8.75/HR
Bell Service/Valet Service:
Responsible for greeting guests, assisting guests upon check in and check out, providing superior customer service during there stay in Sun Valley. Duties include: parking cars, opening doors, baggage assistance, guest relations, ect. Must speak English fluently.
Dates: Year round position. Seasonal is either December 5- March 20 or December 15- April 10 (flexibility is acceptable); summer June-September 15
Skills: Ability to drive an automatic and manual car
Pay and Hours: $6 plus tips (tips are usually very high)/ 40 hours a week
FOOD AND BEVERAGE DEPARTMENT:
Cashiers
Cashiers are responsible for handling the cash transactions from the customers to the company. We will train the right applicant that demonstrates responsibility and professionalism.
Dates: Accepting applicants with work dates between Nov. 30 and April 20. Beginning of April work dates will be accepted. Summer: June-September 15
Skills: Must read, write, and speak English above average. Will train on the computer.
Pay and Hours: $8/HR plus minimal tips; 56 hour weeks
Bussers:
Bussers must be fast and hard working individuals. Bussers are responsible for keeping the restaurants and dining room areas clean and tidy.
Dates: Year round or December till April; summer: June-September 15
Skills: Ability to work quickly. Some English required.

Dishwashers:
Dishwashers will be responsible for washing the dishes, and maintaining a clean dish pit.

Servers:
Must have previous restaurant experience. Advanced level of English is required, and a high level of customer service is mandatory.

COMMISSARIES:
Commissaries are responsible for the ordering and stocking of food purchases. A food commissary is a very physically demanding job. Applicant must be a hard worker and organized.

Skills: Must be able to read English and speak it at a basic level. Applicant must be willing to accept working in a very physical job.

COCKTAIL SERVERS/ BARTENDERS:
Previous experience as a cocktail server is preferred, but not required. Bartenders must have previous work experience behind the bar pouring, mixing, and serving drinks. Advanced level of English is required for these positions.

Summer: June-September
Skills: Friendly attitude and a willingness to learn required for cocktail servers. Previous experience required for bartenders.

KITCHEN HELPER:
A Kitchen Helper at Sun Valley will assist in the preparation of sufficient quantities of pre-cut meats, vegetables, fruits and other items to facilitate the quick preparation of the food line. You may be asked to do any of the following: store and rotate fresh foods, distribute foods, clean up work areas and kitchen equipment and utensils.
Dates: Year Round/ June-September/ December-April
Skills: Comfort cutting and slicing different types of vegetables, fruits, meats, ect.
Pay and Hour: $8/HR; 40-56 Hours a week
ENTRY LEVEL VEHICLE MECHANICS:
Supports Lead and Shop Mechanics by providing mechanic support to maintain and repair company vehicles. An applicant should have at least one year of previous experience working with Ski Mountain Grooming machines, (e.g Pisten Bully, Bombardier, or LMC), or two years experience or formal education in Automotive/Diesel engines. A prospective employee should also have a working knowledge of automotive problems and welding experience is a plus. A current driver’s license is required.
