Transport To The Sun
By Air
Sun Valley is served by Hailey's Friedman Memorial Airport (SUN). It's located 14 miles from the resort and is easily accessible from the gateway cities of Seattle (SEA), Los Angeles (LAX), and Salt Lake City (SLC). These cities are served by most major airlines and are met by Sun Valley’s two connecting carriers: Horizon Air (Alaska Airlines) and SkyWest (Delta Connection).
In addition, Horizon Air now offers daily direct, nonstop flights between Sun Valley and Los Angeles and Seattle, putting west coasters just a few hours away from Sun Valley.
SkyWest (Delta Connection) offers multiple times daily to and from Salt Lake City, UT to Friedman Memorial Airport.
Sun Valley Resort offers a complimentary guest resort shuttle for transportation from/to Friedman Memorial Airport and the Sun Valley Resort.

Rental Cars
For those who may wish to strike their own path, rental cars are available in the gateway cities as well as in Sun Valley.
Those wishing to drive from Boise, Twin Falls, Idaho Falls or Pocatello can pick up an Avis Rental Car at the airport and it can be dropped off at Sun Valley Resort with no drop-off charge. For the return trip , Avis cars may be picked up at Sun Valley Resort and be returned to the airport with no drop-off charge. Avis cars can also be rented at Sun Valley Resort for day-trips.

How to get to and get around Sun Valley
Since 1936, skiers from all over the world have been saying that Sun Valley is definitely worth the trip. The resort is easily accessed from the gateway cities of Boise (ID), Seattle (WA), Los Angeles (CA), Oakland (CA) and Salt Lake City (UT). These cities are served by most major airlines, and are met by Sun Valley's two connecting carriers, Horizon Air and Skywest Airlines. Horizon Air also flies direct non-stop flights between Sun Valley and Los Angeles, Oakland and Seattle. Shuttle and van service is available from Boise, and the Ketchum Area Rapid Transit (KART) system provides free transportation throughout the valley, once you're here.

Driving to Sun Valley
Driving to Sun Valley Resort offers an enjoyable ride through high desert and picturesque farmland with very little traffic.
From Boise Airport:
Head east on I-84 41 miles to the second exit for Mountain Home. Turn left on Hwy. 20 (a good spot for rest or refreshments). Continue on Hwy. 20 for 84 miles to the Hwy. 75 junction. Turn left on Hwy. 75 and continue for 25 miles to Main Street in Ketchum. Turn right (east) on Sun Valley Road. The Resort is one mile ahead.
Total: 151 miles
From Boise in inclement weather:
Take I-84 east 87 miles to the Bliss Exit. Take Hwy. 26 toward Gooding and Shoshone, about 27 miles. Turn left on Hwy. 75 at Shoshone. Continue 54 miles to Ketchum. Turn right (east) on Sun Valley Road. The Resort is one mile ahead.
Total: 169 miles
From Twin Falls Airport:
Take Airport Road east. Road turns into Washington, then Shoshone Street. Continue through downtown Twin Falls to the Five-point Intersection. Turn left on Hwy. 93 (Blue Lakes Blvd.).
Continue to the Perrine Bridge which crosses the Snake River Canyon. Continue on Hwy. 93 which will turn into Hwy. 75 at Shoshone. Continue 54 miles to Ketchum. Turn right (east) on Sun Valley Road. The Resort is one mile ahead.
