Let’s Do Dinner!

Summer may be winding down, but enjoying dinner in Sun Valley, especially on a patio as evenings remain warm and sunny, is just as appealing as ever. Now that the charming and popular Konditorei in the Sun Valley Village is opening its doors for dinner, it’s time to make the most of the coming Indian Summer nights.

The charming and popular Konditorei restaurant in the Sun Valley Village is now serving dinner. Enjoy a wonderful meal on their beautiful patio and make the most of these late summer nights!

Always extremely popular for bountiful breakfasts, tasty lunches, European pastries and coffee, and the best brunch around, the Konditorei is now also serving dinner. Whether you choose to eat in the charming Austrian-inspired dining room or on the patio surrounded by gorgeous flowers, the experience will be a memorable one. In addition to serving favorites off the all-day menu, including a delicious Nicoise chopped salad, a schnitzel plate, and alpine grilled cheese, dinner specials will also tempt the palate and invite you to linger well into the evening. One recent dinner special celebrated the most local, freshest food possible. As Konditorei manager Matt Robinson explained, “We paired up with Idaho’s Bounty to do a locally-sourced meal including Idaho rainbow trout, roast potatoes, and vegetables. It was delicious and very well received.” An extensive beer and wine list is also sure to please. The Konditorei is now open daily from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.  Please call 208-622-2235 with any questions.

Just in case three meals a day at the Konditorei aren’t enough, they are also offering a very European Afternoon Bliss service of either Tea & Strudel or Coffee & Cupcakes. For only $6, enjoy a freshly baked strudel and comforting cup of tea, or opt for an OMG (oh my gourmet) cupcake with a cup of locally roasted coffee. This delicious afternoon break is available daily from 3 – 5 p.m. Then, mark your calendar for another special treat at the Konditorei. On September 27, the Ayinger Brewery from Aying, Germany will be featured at a Beer Dinner from 6 – 9 p.m. Taste eight courses of food and seven beers uniquely paired by the restaurant’s culinary team to accentuate flavors and create harmony. For more information and reservations call 208-622-2235. The Beer Dinner is $65 per person, all-inclusive.

In addition to all-day favorites like a savory chicken crepe, the Konditorei is also serving dinner specials that are sure to tempt

The Konditorei’s dinner service goes hand-in-hand with a big development in the Sun Valley dining scene. If you have been to the Village recently, you couldn’t help but notice a large new fenced area between the Signatures Shop and the Ram Restaurant. The spot where Bald Mountain Pizza and Pasta stood is transforming into The Village Station, a new restaurant featuring a family-friendly menu with pizza, pasta, salads, sandwiches, and entrees. It will also be the best spot in town to catch a game on numerous big-screen televisions and to enjoy a lively bar scene. The Village Station is scheduled to open in mid-December and is part of a large project that also includes a reimagining of the classic Ram Restaurant with a twist on the historic. The restaurant will maintain all its charm, but will also feature modern updates like a new exhibition kitchen.  In the first of a two-phase project, many guest rooms at the Sun Valley Inn are also being remodeled and in some cases, expanded into spacious suites. Please check back to this blog for more on these exciting developments.

There’s big news in the Sun Valley dining scene as construction starts on The Village Station. This casual eatery is scheduled to open mid-December serving family-friendly fare and featuring a great spot to watch games

Finally, if you’re looking to squeeze the most out of the season, the special dinners at the Elkhorn Clubhouse Grille will continue – but only for a few more weeks. Enjoy the best fish and chips around with Fish Fry Fridays, from 5:30 - 9 p.m. through September 15.  The meal is all-you-can-eat amber battered cod and fries for just $12. There are also additional food offerings as well as a full bar. Finish out your summer Mondays with the $5 Burger Night, again from 5:30 – 9 p.m. Relax on the patio and indulge in some great burgers, homemade chips, drinks, and additional food choices as the sun gently sets on some spectacular views. The final burger Monday of the season will be September 25.

Don’t forget the beautiful patio at the Elkhorn Clubhouse Grille – still serving Fish Fry Friday and $5 Monday Burger specials -- for a few more weeks!

It’s not over yet! Stay outside, dine al fresco, and toast these wonderful warm nights, some terrific food, and exciting things to come!
