It’s a Party for Presidents’ Weekend
When you think of blockbuster holidays in Sun Valley packed with non-stop events, Christmas, July Fourth, and Labor Day probably pop to mind. But Presidents’ Weekend should also top your list of don’t-miss holidays at the resort. From fantastic skiing and riding to events to keep the entire family busy enjoying the mountain lifestyle, Sun Valley knows how to celebrate! And if your vacation falls the week before Presidents’ Weekend, don’t forget that spending Valentine’s Day in Sun Valley is as romantic as it gets.
DollarLIVE will be lit for Presidents’ Weekend with an Open Jam on new flow-style terrain parks, night skiing, and a carnival
A highlight of the weekend will surely be everything that’s happening on Dollar Mountain – which is a lot! On Saturday, February 17, Dollar Live will be lit with all-ages fun that lasts well into the night. Day 2 Night at Dollar Live is a celebration of everything that makes winter in the mountains the best way to enjoy winter. Ride the newly-designed flow-style terrain parks and progressive features that emphasize “parks for everyone.” From the new Mineshaft transition park to Trestles, there are creative and playful features for everyone to enjoy, in addition to more traditional terrain and jumps. The whole family will love it. Then, starting at 1 p.m., get ready to jump in for the “Open Jam” competition on Trestles Park. Practice begins at 1 p.m. with the action going from 2 – 4 p.m. There will be live music, food and drink specials, prizes for the best line, best trick, and lots of surprises.
The newly designed Trestles Park on Dollar Mountain emphasizes fun and a “parks for everyone” mindset. Over Presidents’ Weekend, it will be the setting for a fun-for-all “Open Jam” competition
When the sun dips behind the mountains, things heat up even more on Dollar. Everyone is invited to come out from 5 – 9 p.m. for some epic night skiing and carnival fun. Lifts will whisk skiers and riders up to play under the lights while at the base of the mountain there will be a bouncy house, face painting, and crafts for the whole crew. For this event, special tickets need to be purchased to use the lifts ($29 for adults and $19 for kids). If you haven’t been night skiing in Sun Valley, you don’t want to miss this. The vibe is super welcoming, the night skies are mind blowing, and it’s a great way to spend a mid-winter’s evening.
The rest of the weekend is also packed with countless ways to get your stoke on, to laugh, and to relax. On Friday night, join comedian Keith Barany at the Opera House from 8 – 10 p.m. for some serious laughter. Barany, who has been called “one of the wittiest comics working today,” by the New York Post will offer his distinctive and hilarious take on timely topics. He is known for an easy conversational style and audience interaction and has appeared on the Jimmy Kimmel Show and Seinfeld (where he also worked as a writer). Buy Tickets here or at the Guest Information Center in the Sun Valley Village.
When your tastes run to an appreciation for sublime wine and effervescent bubbles, we’ve also got you covered. On Friday, February 16, keep the Valentine’s vibes going with a very special wine dinner hosted by Leonetti Cellar & Figgins Estate. From 6 – 9 p.m., find your seat at the charming Sun Valley Clubhouse and indulge in a five-course dinner with renowned Washington winemaker Chris Figgins. The cost $150 per person or $275 per couple, excluding tax and gratuity. To make reservations, please contact Michelle LeMarr at email@example.com or call 602-708-2060. Then, on Saturday, continue to celebrate the good life with a special Clicquot in the Snow event at River Run Lodge. With the spectacular backdrop of skiers and riders making turns down Baldy’s perfect slopes, raise a glass of legendary Veuve Clicquot champagne, bathed in sunshine and surrounded by friends. The celebration also includes a photo booth, live music, and #clicquotinthesnowtreats. Buy a bottle or a glass, but be there!
Cheers! Presidents’ Weekend in Sun Valley also invites you to kick back and enjoy the good life both with a very special wine dinner and a toast to winter with Clicquot in the Snow!
