Super Bowl Sunday Done Right

It’s on! On Sunday, February 5, New England will square off against Atlanta in the biggest sports event of the year: Super Bowl LI.  Where will you be?

If you want to be where it’s all happening, pull up a bar stool to “Mahogany Ridge” or grab friends and settle around a table or two at River Run Lodge. The action starts at 4:30 p.m. (so you can get in an entire day of epic skiing and riding in the best conditions) and it will be quite a party. There will be multiple big (huge) screens with house sound throughout the Lodge so you won’t miss a minute of the action.

River Run Lodge will be transformed into game-day central when Super Bowl LI is shown on multiple big screens this Sunday. Snacks and drinks will be plentiful and the party will be rockin’

Watching the Super Bowl works up an appetite and the snacking will be as great as the on-screen action. Enjoy game-day favorites with a build-your-own-taco and nacho bar, wings, and pizza. River Run Lodge offers a full bar and many great beer and wine selections, too so the good times will just keep rolling.

Just for showing up, you also get the chance for some great prizes. Enter a raffle for skis, a snowboard (yes, you read right – awesome hardwear!) as well as t-shirts. Four lucky fans will also win one-day lift tickets to the amazing winter playground that is Bald Mountain.

For family-friendly game viewing, try the Bowling Alley at the Sun Valley Lodge. There’s plenty to keep everyone happy, well fed and entertained in addition to watching the big game

If your Sunday plans are more family-centric and don’t include River Run, no worries! The Sun Valley Lodge Bowling Alley and Game Room will also be screening the Super Bowl. This super all ages-friendly space will keep everyone occupied, even if they are not super fans and may be more worried about missing one pin instead of missing one play! The atmosphere will be festive with the Bowling Alley’s delicious food, pitchers of beer, bowling, games, and lots of ways to have fun.

Super Bowl Sunday also falls at the end of the Sun Valley Nordic Festival with a celebration of a different sort. The day after the world famous Boulder Mountain Tour, everyone is invited to the Sun Valley Nordic Center to enjoy a demo day.  From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. (that still leaves plenty of time to get to River Run Lodge for game viewing!), enjoy a special $10 discounted trail fee, or a free pass for those holding the $49 Nordic Festival Trail Pass, to get out on the best trails around for skiers of all levels. Local merchants and ski industry reps will have all the latest equipment on hand to try and introductory clinics will be held at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. in both skate and classic technique. Enjoy a great lunch at the on-premise Sun Valley Club and make the most of the afternoon. On Sunday, they are offering a special $10 barbecue and veggie chili lunch special – the perfect food for a cold winter’s day!

Enjoy the end of the Sun Valley Nordic Festival by demo-ing top equipment at the Sun Valley Nordic Center on Sunday before watching the game. The trails have never been better

If you are a fan of getting great deals, then Sun Valley’s Super Bowl Sunday is for you, too. The beautiful Brass Ranch boutique is stocked with the finest names in skiwear for women, men, and children, as well as wonderful gifts, boots, and accessories, and will offer a 25 percent off skiwear on February 5.  The styles are gorgeous this season and now is the time to take home that special coat, pants, or layering piece you have had your eye on!

Sun Valley invites you to enjoy the big game between the Patriots and the Falcons your way! Grab your friends for beer and nachos at River Run in what is sure to be a huge party atmosphere; keep the kids entertained bowling while you watch every play; shop; ski or ride or cross country your day away enjoying amazing conditions, and then settle down and get ready to critique the ads (did I say that?).
