After this long, very snowy winter, hints of spring are a welcome sight even as the riding and skiing continue to be fantastic. And nothing says spring like the pastel colors, flowers, traditions, and treats of the Easter holiday. There is no more festive place to celebrate Easter and springtime than at the Sun Valley Village.

This year, on Friday, April 14, Village shops and restaurants will again host Easter celebrations perfect for the entire family. These include a mammoth Easter egg hunt, train rides for the little ones, and a visit from the Easter Bunny himself. The fun starts at 2 p.m. and lasts until 9 p.m. The epic Easter Egg Hunt, held on the Sun Valley Terrace, invites children 12 and under to scramble for colorful eggs in a time-honored tradition. Children are divided by age and it’s a favorite activity each year. The hunt is followed by rides on the Kids’ Train and a visit with the Easter Bunny. Parents, this is a great photo opportunity!

That evening, the family-friendly Bald Mountain Pizza is open from 5 – 9 p.m., serving its signature pasta dishes like spaghetti and meatballs, pizzas from the traditional to the innovative, and popular appetizers like mozzarella sticks. This eatery is casual, affordable, and super tasty. After dinner, head over to a la mode, also open until 9 p.m., for a delicious ice cream treat, or depending on the weather, perhaps a hand-crafted hot chocolate. Try anything that features Idaho huckleberries! It will be a great afternoon and evening for the entire group.
The Sun Valley’s unique and high quality retail stores will also be offering outstanding deals, creating a perfect time to shop while the kids enjoy the Easter fun.
Brunch at the Konditorei is always special, but it will be extra special on Easter Sunday with both traditional and innovative brunch items
On Easter itself, April 16, Sun Valley is again the place to be for a special holiday meal. In the Village, the charming, Austrian-inspired Konditorei will be serving its famous brunch from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., with special additions for the Easter holiday. Don’t forget their build-your-own Bloody Mary’s, too! At the Lodge, Chef Derek Gallegos will also create a memorable Easter meal at Gretchen’s. The Chef sources only the finest seasonal and locally-sourced ingredients to create fabulous meals from scratch.
Up the road at the Sun Valley Clubhouse, enjoy a bountiful Easter Brunch Buffet filled with traditional favorites and innovative additions. This decadent meal will be served from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Choices include Eggs Benedict, Brioche French Toast, Lox and Bagels, and Waldorf salad. Additionally, there will be full service omelet stations, as well as a chef attended carving station. Guests can enjoy a selection of desserts from the Sun Valley Konditorei’s Pastry Chef. Don’t forget, Easter Sunday also marks the end to the regular season on Bald Mountain and is sure to be a party of another kind. Live bands will play at Warm Springs Lodge from 2:30- 5:30 p.m. as skiers and riders get in some of their last turns of what has truly been an epic season. Also don’t forget the bonus weekend Sun Valley is offering to keep this amazing season going just a little longer. Lifts on Baldy will be running the weekend of April 21 through 23 for the Baldy Bash. Both weekends are a way to celebrate and thank the locals, guests, and mountain community for another successful season.
