Pass FAQs
I have purchased my pass, how can I pick up my pass?

College pass holders are required to provide College documentation starting November 2nd. Renewing pass holders that have successfully purchased online can begin using their pass as soon as we begin operations. For more detailed information or to Check if your pass is set to go please follow this instuctions under the "Passholder Info," tab or contact the Sun Valley lift ticket and season pass office at or call 208-622-6136.

How many days do I get on my Sun and Snow Pass?

The Sun and Snow pass gives you three days to ski at Sun Valley and three days to ski at Snowbasin. You will receive 50% off the daily rate after you have skied your three days.

Are there any restrictions on the 15-day pass?

15 days of skiing/riding plus a 50% off full day window rate on any additional days with no blackouts. All passes are NON-TRANSFERABLE. Unused days are NON-REFUNDABLE and CANNOT BE ROLLED OVER to the next season.

Can I upgrade a limited pass to a full season pass during the season? What will the cost be?

Yes, you may upgrade a limited pass to a full season pass at any time during the season. The cost will reflect the pricing for the Season pass at the time of the upgrade, not the cost at the time of original purchase.

How do I qualify for the College Season Pass?

You have to be a Full-time college student (ages 18-29) and you will need to provide proof of full-time status (12 undergraduate credits or using the criteria established by the specific learning institution) in an accredited college or university. Students will be required to present proof of credits, paid tuition and valid photo identification in order to pick up the pass.

What are the dates the Early/Late pass is valid?

For the 2020/2021 season, Opening day through December 13, 2020 and March 19, 2021 thru the end of the season. This pass is not available for purchase after November 22, 2020.

Does Sun Valley offer a Military pass.

Yes, Sun Valley offers a pass for active duty Military and their qualifying dependents (Spouse and dependents 18 years and younger). This pass gives you 50% off the daily adult lift ticket rate. Retired Military and Veterans are eligible for a 30% discount off the daily lift ticket rate. A Military ID must be shown at the time of purchase.

Does Sun Valley have other products for the less frequent-visitor?

Yes. If you decide a season pass is not right for you, Sun Valley offers other discounted ticket options periodically throughout the season, especially when you buy online in advance. Additionally, Sun Valley offers ski and stay packages.

What if my pass is lost or stolen?

Please contact the Sun Valley season pass office at (888) 490-5950 if your pass is lost or stolen. We can inactivate the lost pass and let you know how to get a replacement.

Can someone else use my season pass?

No. It is clearly stated all season passes are NON-TRANSFERABLE, meaning the season pass product can only be used by the designated individual from the date of purchase.

Challenger Season Pass
Consider buying this product if: you ski/ride more than 30 times and can utilize any of the added benefits.

Freedom Found Pass
Consider buying this product if you ski/ride 15 days during the regular season and ski/ride in the early and late season.

Early/Late Season Pass
Consider buying this product if you primarily ski/ride in the early and late season only. There are approximately 50 possible days to ski/ride for a low rate.

15-Day Pass
Consider buying this product if You ski/ride 12-15 days during the regular season.

Will Sun Valley continue to offer these discounted ticket programs; Helly Hansen promotion, Ski Idaho 5th and 6th grade passports, and Sothern Idaho honor roll?

No, Due to daily ticket restrictions we are pausing these ticket programs for the 20/21 season.

Pass Pickup Information

This season presents many challenges we are working hard to tackle to have a fun-filled season. Our main goal (besides epic turns) is safety for our guests and employees. This season our ticket and season pass department is planning to get your passes set for winter with minimal contact. Please complete the following steps to update and collect your season pass.

  1. Fill out the season waiver. This must be filled out by each passholder 18 years or older. If the pass holder is under 18, a legal guardian must sign for them.
  2. If you have a Sun Valley picture card from years past, please email with the number next to the barcode on your pass.
  3. If you do not have a Sun Valley picture card you can email us your photo at The photo should show a clear, front view, full face of you.  We will print your pass and have it ready for pick up at the River Run ticket window.
  4. If you have the 15 Day, Freedom Found or Sun and Snow Pass, please let us know if you would like to have the direct to lift option for additional days.  Additional days will be auto charged to your credit card on file at 50% off the single day window rate when you go to the lift.  Please call us to confirm your credit card on file.



Resort Cards

The Sun Valley Resort Card is the all-in-one card for your Sun Valley Resort activities.  Further enhance the convenience of your Resort Card by adding the ability to make purchases resort wide at Sun Valley Resort’s retail, restaurant and recreational activity locations with Resort Charge or Stored Value.

Resort Charge: Add to your Resort Card and get pay-as-you-go convenience by tying your credit card to your account. Make purchases resort wide at Sun Valley Resort’s retail, restaurant and recreational activity locations* and leave your wallet at home!

Stored Value: Allows for the same convenience as Resort Charge. However, Stored Value allows a dollar amount to be loaded into your account and subsequently debited off as you make resort wide purchases at Sun Valley Resort’s retail, restaurant and recreational activity locations*. You can continually reload your Stored Value balance at any time.

*Resort Charge and Stored Value may only be used as a form of payment for Sun Valley Resort goods and services and not for direct lift, recreational or activity based access. Valid at all Sun Valley Resort locations excluding: Sun Valley Sinclair Station, Panache, Barry Petersen Jewelers, Silver Creek Outfitters, The Toy Store, and Idaho Wireless.
