This summer from June 30 to July 3, SVWC writers and readers return to the Sun Valley Resort to laugh and learn, hike and talk, and stretch the limits of their imagination. The days are filled with books, ideas, stimulation, and fun. Extraordinary writers and thinkers talk with an engaged audience about their work and the world, and discuss why literature matters. Speakers for 2017 include Colson Whitehead, David Brooks, Lauren Groff, Billy Collins, Jeffrey Toobin, Maria Semple, Dave Barry, Abraham Verghese, and more. Local students and teachers can attend Pavilion talks for free (space available) and 100% of the profits from the SVWC bookstore go towards scholarships at BSU. Individual tickets for several Pavilion talks will be sold online at svwc.com in early June. Free community events include a reading and Q&A with author Imbolo Mbue in partnership with the Community Library in Ketchum on Thursday, June 29 at 5pm as well as two evening lawn talks on Saturday and Sunday. The website also features free audio recordings of archived talks from past years.

Fans immediately fell in love with Eddie Money’s sound, and the album, which went double platinum, featured hits like “Baby Hold On” and “Two Tickets to Paradise.” Money followed the success of his debut album with a stream of Top 40 hits, as well as some of the era’s most creative videos for songs like “Think I’m in Love” and “Shakin.” In 1986, Money released Can’t Hold Back, which featured the classic, Grammy-Nominated duet with Ronnie Spector, “Take Me Home Tonight.” The song reached number 4 on the Billboard Hot 100. The album went platinum and also featured the hit “I Wanna Go Back.”
