Elkhorn Golf Course

Originally opened in 1974, Elkhorn Golf Club was created in the last collaboration between the famous design team of father and son Robert Trent Jones Senior and Junior. After an extensive renovation in 2004, the club reopened in 2005 and was acquired by the Sun Valley Company in July of 2011. Robert Trent Jones Sr. designed the front nine, which is quite hilly, while Robert Trent Jones Jr. designed the back nine which follows a creek and has a water hazard on every hole but one.

With large undulated greens, 7,214 yards long from the tips, and boasting over 100 sand traps and bunkers, Elkhorn will prove to be a test of your golfing abilities. Your concentration on the game of golf will also be challenged, as the vistas ranging from the Elkhorn hillsides to Sun Valley's White Clouds golf course fight for your attention.

Elkhorn Golf Club also offers guests a 16,000 square foot clubhouse that includes a restaurant and bar. Dine in and watch your favorite games on one of two 60" flat screen televisions, or enjoy a more quaint setting on the large patio that sits in the shade most of the day.

2021 Green Fees

*Peak season is June 15 - September 6, 2021

*Value season is opening day through June 14, 2021, and September 7, 2021 to closing day.

All rounds include carts and access to the warm-up range. Golf shirts with collars are required. Denim is not permitted.

Rental Fees

2021 Access Policy

Elkhorn members may book tee times up to 7 days in advance.

Elkhorn members may book unaccompanied tee times for their guests.  Only one unaccompanied foursome per member may be reserved per day and may be made up to 7 days in advance.

Elkhorn members have the ability to “bump” any tee time after 2 p.m. made in accordance with the recorded Public Golf Access (“PGA”) Agreement, provided that the bump is made by the close of business of the previous day.

SVEA players may make tee-times no more than six days nor less than three days in advance in accordance with the recorded SVEA Agreement.  Times available for the SVEA rate will be 8:30, 9:30, 10:30, 11:30, 12:30, 1:30 and any time after 2 p.m. subject to the limitations set forth in the SVEA Agreement.

The SVCO reserves 8:00, 9:00, 10:00, 11:00, 12:00 and 1:00 for hotel guests as promotional use pursuant to the Membership Plan.  Sun Valley’s resort guests will also be able to play for the Hotel Guest rate any time after 2 p.m. subject to the limitations in the PGA Agreement.  SVCO reserves the right to book tee times when the hotel reservation is confirmed.

If either the SVEA or the SVCO times have not been booked within three days of the availability, any Elkhorn member may then reserve those times.

Public players may book tee times no earlier than 72 hours in advance, and such members of the public may access the golf course any time after 2 p.m., provided that all such public play is subject to the limitations in the PGA Agreement.   A non-refundable deposit with a credit card is needed in order to reserve these tee times.
