Our SnowSports Specialty programs promote skills development, fun and friendship. We offer non-competitive, ski and snowboard clinics for all ages. Whether you’re a first time skier or snowboarder or want to tame the bumps, play in powder or train gates. We’ve got the right package for you.

    Offered for ages 6 through high school, FreeRide meets for twelve Saturdays for 3-1/2 hours with the final Saturday of the season including a barbeque. Our focus is on high quality, high-energy, skills development for the fun of the sport. Helmets required.

    Looking for a shortened or two day version of FreeRide? FreeRide Adventure is offered at Baldy Mountain only for advanced skiers and riders. FreeRide Adventure runs Saturday and Sunday mornings for three consecutive weekends. Open to children six years old through 17 years old. Helmet required.     This program is for high school students looking for a non-competitive opportunity to work on advanced skiing or riding skills. Explore Bald Mountain with the best coaches of Sun Valley SnowSports. Groups will meet three times each week including Saturdays and Sundays from 9:30 to 1:00 and Wednesdays from 2:00 to 4:00. Each session will meet for three weeks. Helmets required. Discount packages with lift tickets or passes are available.

    Spuds are offered at Dollar Mountain only for never-ever to lower intermediate skiers and riders. Spuds run Saturdays and Sundays, either morning or afternoon, for three consecutive weekends. Open to children from 5 through 12 years old (Children’s snowboard instruction begins at 7 years old). Helmet required.

    All participants must have lift tickets or a pass. Discount packages with lift tickets or passes are available.

    LittleSpuds introduces children 3-5 years old to skiing. Sessions meet on Tuesdays and Wednesdays for three weeks 1:00 to 3:00 pm. Children must be potty trained and want to learn. Come ready to ski with boots, skis and goggles. Helmets required.  All sessions are held at Dollar Mountain.

    All LittleSpuds receive a complementary Dollar Pass.

     

     

    Lids on Kids Sun Valley SnowSports promotes & educates for lift safety in all kids' programs.
    We require the use of helmets in all kids' programs.

    We recommend that all skiers and snowboarders wear helmets. Children ages 17 and under are required to wear a winter sport protective helmet while participating in SnowSports School activities. Free rental helmets are available at our ski school locations for your convenience.

    All-Mountain Skiing and Race Training

    The Mountain Masters program focuses on all-mountain skiing for the intermediate to advanced skier. Join us for one day or the whole season. Our top level instructors provide you with the tools to master all that Baldy has to offer.
    Just want one day a week of Mountain Master fun? Join us on Thursdays for the once a week program.
    Discounted lift tickets available for both the Daily Rate and Weekly Package.

    Developed by women, for women, the DIVAS program includes a 2.5 hour group lesson, one day per week for eight weeks. Ski with other intermediate to advanced women for an all mountain experience, taught by Sun Valley’s top female Big Mountain athletes.

    Lisa Densmore Ballard joins Sun Valley’s elite female instructors for two days of camaraderie and skills improvement in an atmosphere that maximizes learning. Small groups develop focus on technique. Après-ski events and video analysis are included.
