Winter
Sun Valley Guest Perks
From the time you land until the time you leave, staying in Sun Valley Village comes with several unique experiences that can only be offered by the resort.
It would be enough to stay in Sun Valley’s storied lodge, built by the famed architect Gilbert Stanley Underwood. After all, this is where America’s destination ski experience began. And the magic lives on in the Sun Valley Lodge and the former Challenger Inn, both recently restored and endowed with the plush amenities of the 21st century.
But staying at Sun Valley Resort brings with it extra perks, as well.
All guests are entitled to use of the resort’s three swimming pools and hot tub. The Sun Valley Lodge pool, open year-round and kept at a comfortable 98 degrees in the winter and 90 degrees in the summer, is surrounded by romantic views of the mountains. It is the perfect place to unwind after a day on the mountain, and the Poolside Café offers a full-service bar and light bites. After a soak in the pool or hot tub, guests can rinse off in the luxurious marble locker and shower room.
The steam rising from the Sun Valley Inn pool, which is open daily, always attracts envious glances from locals strolling through the Sun Valley Village. And an Olympic pool near Sun Valley’s tennis courts offers two swimming lanes for those who wish to work out during the summer months.
Sun Valley sports more than 400 miles of singletrack running through surrounding hills and woods. But, if that’s not enough, try the Spin Circuit with its intervals, rolling hills, and sprints—all done to music in Sun Valley Resort’s Fitness Center.
The Fitness Center at the Spa offers the latest treadmills, spin bikes, and weight machines—all free to its guests 24-hours a day.
Try a Crystal Sacred Sound Yoga class set to the sounds of crystal bowls. The vibrations, it’s said, dial you into the frequencies of health, love, forgiveness, and rejuvenation.
There are a variety of other yoga classes, as well, including Gentle Flow, Restorative, HIIT and Vinyasa Yoga. And during summer months, you can stretch out in the fresh air during free Yoga on the Mountain sessions at River Run Plaza. Sessions are beginner-friendly, and mats are available for guests who left their own at home.
Come winter there’s no need to lug around your skis and boots when you’re a guest of Sun Valley Resort. Complimentary ski valet service is available at Pete Lane’s at the bottom of Bald Mountain All you have to do is show up ready to ski.
The resort also offers discounted lift tickets and other packages for its guests. And, when it comes time to hit the mountain, be sure to take advantage of a free ski tour held daily on Bald Mountain.
Sun Valley offers courtesy shuttles to pick you up at Friedman Memorial Airport, transportation around town, and the same shuttles will take you back to the airport when it’s time to go back to the real world.
Complimentary USA Today newspapers will keep you in touch with the world beyond Sun Valley, while free coffee in Lodge and Inn lobbies will get you revved up for the day.
