Your Guide to The 2024 Toyota U.S. Alpine Championships

Get ready for an action-packed weekend at Sun Valley Resort! We’re thrilled to welcome the 2024 U.S. Alpine Championships and can’t wait to celebrate with our community and racing fans from around the world. With activities and events all weekend long, we’ve put together your go-to guide to making the most of each exciting day.

Day 1 & 2: Start the Party with Super-G & the Parade of Champions

Wednesday, March 20th

And we’re off to the races! Kick off your long weekend on Wednesday, March 20th, with a hearty Bavarian-inspired breakfast from Konditorei, or grab a freshly brewed cup of joe to-to from the Warm Springs Lodge before heading to the Warm Springs Base Area for the first races in the Men’s and Women’s Super-G competition.

Cap off a fast-paced first day with a relaxing dip in the pool at the Sun Valley Lodge or a refreshing happy hour at Village Station, or challenge your championship crew to a few frames of friendly competition at the historic Sun Valley bowling alley

Thursday, March 21st

Gear up to take on day two of Super-G racing with all-American classics at Gretchen’s, a fan-favorite located adjacent to the Sun Valley Lodge lobby. Fueled up and ready to see some champions crowned, head back to the Warm Springs Base for the final Super-G races.

Let the adrenaline rush of high-speed alpine racing carry you into the all-out bash in Ketchum Town Square. Our community will come together at 4:30 PM to cheer on the U.S. Alpine racers with a Parade of Athletes led by the drum corps and local SVSEF athletes.

The party doesn’t stop with the parade—stick around for a live concert on the plaza from the Kris Lager Band.

Day 3 & 4: Can't-Miss Action—On & Off the Slopes

Friday, March 22nd

Get your day three going with a walk through the Vendor Village at the Warm Springs Base Area, which will be up and running beginning on Friday, March 22nd, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, through the end of the weekend.

You'll find your go-to souvenir at the Vendor Village, from commemorative U.S. Alpine swag to all your favorite gear repping Sun Valley.

Show up to the races in style with Knockaround’s affordable and original lines of sunglasses and goggles. Keep your energy up—wherever your day takes you—with PROBAR’s natural and nutritious meal replacement bars.

With swag in hand, head to Hemingway & Greyhawk for the fast-paced and precise spectacle of Men’s Giant Slalom racing. Stick around after the races for live après music starting at 2:00 PM from the Aaron Golay Band.

Spend your Friday evening at the Opera House for a special screening of the new documentary feature “Common Ground,” the anticipated sequel to the highly successful “Kiss the Ground.” The screening begins at 6:30 PM, and a Q&A panel will follow with producer Eric Dillon, local regenerative farmer Glenn Elizinga, and Amy Mattais of the Sun Valley Institute for Resilience.

Saturday, March 23rd

Ready to go for day four? Ease into your morning with yoga at the Sun Valley Lodge, or take it extra slow with rejuvenating treatments from the world-class Spa at Sun Valley.

After some mid-weekend relaxation, get your blood pumping with some heart-racing competition back at Hemingway & Greyhawk. Women’s Giant Slalom races will see more hopeful champions rise to the challenge of Sun Valley’s expert terrain.

Settle into Saturday afternoon with more live après music at the Warm Springs Base Area from David Burchfield, and don’t miss out on a special opportunity to meet your favorite athletes from 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM at the U.S. Alpine Championships Athlete Signing.

Wind down after the awards ceremony with a movie night in the iconic Sun Valley Opera House or an unforgettable on-mountain dinner at 7,700 feet at The Roundhouse.

Day 5: Choose Your Own Championship Weekend Send-off
Sunday, March 24th

Before setting off to catch the final day of high-caliber racing, make a plan to catch up on all the action around the slopes you might’ve missed so far.

Sunday is the last day to peruse the booths and pick up Sun Valley swag and U.S. Alpine memorabilia at the Vendor Village in the Warm Springs Base Area.

Don’t miss the chance to take a spin on the famous Sun Valley Ice Rink or catch a film at the Opera House, and make sure you don’t leave town without trying the freshly baked pastries at Konditorei or the cozy and inviting atmosphere at Sun Valley’s original restaurant, The Ram. End the weekend on a relaxing note at the Spa at Sun Valley or stroll through the curated boutique shops around the Village.

However you plan your final day around the resort, you won’t want to miss the Men’s and Women’s Slalom Championships. Celebrate the champions and all the incredible athletes with the final awards ceremony of the weekend and some killer après music from Tylor and the Train Robbers.
