Jen King, the program supervisor, said she is really looking forward to an amazing summer. “The Adventure Camps are perfect for first-time visitors to Sun Valley or children who live here,” she said. “We are sure everyone will love the programs this year.”
Beginning June 6, weeklong camps are tailored to the interests and abilities of children from six to ten years old. From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., campers will explore local rivers and streams, hike, bike, bowl, swim, ice skate, paddle boat, ride the Baldy gondola, play golf and tennis, get messy with crafts and much, much more.
With choices from hiking to biking to splashing in streams and ice skating, it’s no wonder the campers can’t wait for the day to start
Jen said some of the themes for summer 2016 include: Wild Idaho – Explore and discover Sun Valley wildflowers and wildlife all while having wild adventures; Stars and Stripes – Let’s celebrate America and its many traditions and we’ll end the week with a Pool Party; Wild West – Yee-Haw! Put on your boots and cowboy/cowgirl hat and experience some wild west adventures, including a wagon ride; Let's Be Bill Nye (Science Week); Sun Valley Olympics; Pirate Week; and Splash Around Sun Valley.
Little adventurers between three and five years old enjoy their own special camp that embraces the Sun Valley lifestyle. Based at the Sun Valley Playschool, these camps also are structured around theme weeks that, this year, include: Around the World, Giddy Up!, and Dinosaurs. This is big fun for little people.
