Sun Valley works with the Summer Work and Travel Program and Intern/Trainee programs under the J1 type visa. We use InterExchange, CIEE, Intrax, and Greenheart as sponsors. If you are new to the program you will need to follow the Direct Placement protocol. We recommend that you contact one of the approved Sponsors and inquire about which local agencies they work with in your area. They will be able to help you get the process started and assist with the various steps in the process.
If you have completed at least one season with us, you will receive an email with directions on how to return. You should receive this email approximately 5 months before the start of your program. You will need to follow all directions in the email to be considered.
We look forward to receiving your application and hope that you can join our team in this beautiful year-round mountain location! So you too can take advantage of our benefits and numerous winter and summer recreation opportunities!
The Sun Valley Employee Housing Project makes a significant leap in the quality of our employee housing. An affordable place to live is an increasing challenge for most mountain and resort towns as long-term rentals are taken off the market, making it increasingly more difficult to live and work in these communities.
Sun Valley Resort is committed to our most valuable investment – our people. We have constructed two new well-appointed employee residences. We now have the ability to house over 520 employees living and working at Sun Valley Resort.
