Celebrating International Women’s Day at Sun Valley Resort

Tuesday, March 8, 2022 is International Women’s Day which is a global day celebrating the achievements of women and calls to action an acceleration of women’s equality. In support of girls and women in the outdoor recreation and ski industries, Sun Valley Resort has partnered with nonprofit organizations SheJumps and Higher Ground to host a number of events between March 5 and 8.

On Tuesday, March 8, Sun Valley Resort welcomes anyone in our ski community who would like to celebrate girls and women in the ski industry to meet at the top of Bald Mountain at 10 a.m. Participants will join together for a cheer of camaraderie and support and then take a lap with some of Sun Valley Resort’s female leaders. The celebration continues afterward as participants are invited to stop by the Brass Ranch at River Run Plaza from 10:30 a.m. - 12 p.m. for a Sip n’ Shop event with refreshments and discounts.

On Saturday, March 5, Sun Valley Opera House showed two ski films focused on elevating people of color, women, and adaptive athletes. The Approach by North Face and Girl Crush starring local skiers are inspiring stories for the entire family.

On Sunday, March 6, SheJumps hosted their Wild Skills Junior Ski Patrol day camp at Sun Valley Resort on Bald Mountain. Girls participated in mountain safety and first aid training while working alongside women of the ski patrol community.
