Ski & Snowboard Rentals

With three convenient locations just steps from the chairlifts and a Rental Center in the Sun Valley Village, Pete Lane's Mountain Sports is your go-to destination to get outfitted for ski and snowboard rentals for the whole family, beginners to experts. All rental packages include complimentary overnight storage just steps from the lifts.  

Book Online: Discounted rentals are available by reserving in advance online until 48-hours before pickup.*

*Rentals can be reserved the night before your first day of skiing or riding at the Village Rental Center location. Your gear will be adjusted and delivered to the mountain the next morning.

Can I store my rented skis or board overnight?

All packages include complimentary ski, pole, and snowboard storage.

What do ski & snowboard rental packages include?

For Ski packages – skis, boots, and poles are included. For Snowboard packages – board and boots are included. All packages include complimentary ski, pole, and snowboard storage.

What is the rental cancellation policy?

Cancellations and changes must be made 48 hours in advance.

What time can I pick up my ski or snowboard rental?

Rentals may be picked up after 3pm the day prior to using the equipment at no charge. Please ensure you selected the correct pickup location for your rental location.

I missed the 48-hour window for online reservations, can I still reserve gear?

Yes! Visit the Pete Lane's Village Rental Center in the Sun Valley Village between 2pm and 8pm any day during ski season. Get professionally fitted and reserve your equipment—skis, boards, boots, poles, and helmet. The next morning, everything will be adjusted and waiting at your choice of River Run, Warm Springs, or Dollar base areas.

Bike Rentals

Bike rentals for the whole family are available throughout the warmer months for mountain, gravel road, comfort, and electric biking from brands like Trek, Norco, and Kona. Downhill specific bike rentals are available at Pete Lane's River Run for lift-accessed riding. All other bike styles are available at Pete Lane's in the Sun Valley Village adjacent to the Sun Valley Lodge.

Sun Valley is happy to offer both bike rentals and bike tuning services to our guests. From kids bikes and comfort bikes to electric bikes and full suspension mountain bikes, we have over 350 bikes to choose from! We rent bikes by the ½ day, which is any 4 hour period, full day, and for multiple days. All rentals include helmets, locks and awesome suggestions on where to ride!

The Bike Shop at Pete Lane's in the Sun Valley Village is closed for the season. See you next summer!

Can I add bike damage insurance? And what does it cover?

Yes, you can add Bike Damage Insurance at time of purchase. 
With Insurance: The shop will absorb the cost of repairing any damaged equipment caused during normal use; however, the guest is responsible for the FULL value of any lost, misplaced, stolen equipment, or damage due to negligence.
Without Insurance: The guest is responsible for the full value of any loss of equipment, regardless of fault, including repair and/or replacement of damaged, lost, misplaced, or stolen equipment.

Why can't I reserve some bikes?

All bikes except Comfort Bikes and Kids Bikes are walk-in only due to limited availability. Walk-in rentals are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Pete Lane's Mountain Sports is happy to offer bike tuning services as well–from flat repair to the whole enchilada–we have you covered. 

All repairs will be ready 24 hours after drop off or sooner unless special parts are needed. Rates do not include parts unless otherwise stated. Tax not included. Prices subject to change.
